The Baseball Performance Lab Research Center on the Marucci Sports campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is where the science of bat performance lives. This is where BPL developed the Balance Point Index™, the BatRX app, and the proprietary algorithms that drive how MLB organizations think about equipment. It is also where the best hitters in professional baseball come to collect data.

MLB Team Services
BPL currently holds contracts with 30% of MLB teams across the American and National Leagues. Under these partnerships, BPL provides BatRX Pro access — our proprietary bat recommendation platform powered by two algorithms built on four years of historical in-game MLB data. Teams can import full rosters, create custom bat specifications, and run unlimited fittings throughout the season.
Our Balance Point Index (BPI) consulting allows organizations to spec custom bats to precise performance profiles. We have built bats to specific BPI targets for over 30 active MLB players. The research that shapes how MLB bats are built happens here — on the Marucci campus, in partnership with the team whose Marucci and Victus brands became the Official Bats of Major League Baseball in January 2025.
